Dejana Radanović retires

To her great regret, Dejana Radanović retired from her match with Cristina Bucsa due to back injury. Dejana stated that she regrets she retired from the match, but also that she has had this injury for a long time:

“I have been struggling with my back for 7-8 years now, I would describe it as a sort of stiffness that flared up during the second set of yesterday’s match. I felt it the moment I woke up this morning, and have been feeling stiffness in my lower back since the first point, I could move or turn. I could not serve, nor get low for return shots,” Dejana stated, and added that her injury made it impossible to move on the court.

When asked if we would see her in the doubles, Dejana replied that she has not yet spoken with her coach, but that she will most likely miss it. When it comes to her plans, she said that she was set to go to Slovenia on May 24, where she planned to participate in two tournaments, but, due to the newly-arisen situation, she hopes for recovery before participating in more tournaments.
